The Kai 5230 blade caps are made of a heavy duty plastic polymer that protects the scissor tips from piercing unwanted fabrics and materials when not in use.  It also protects the tips from damage, when stored.  These blade caps fit the following models of Kai scissors: the Kai N5230, V5230, V5230B, V5230T, as well as their serrated variations.
