The KAI 5210/5220 blade caps are made of a heavy-duty plastic polymer that protects the scissor tips from piercing unwanted fabrics and materials when not in use.  It also protects the tips from damage, when stored.  These blade caps fit the following models of Kai scissors: the Kai N5210, N5210L, V5210, N5220, as well as the 5220L.
